Short Reindeer Sledding, Feeding and Sami Culture

Do you want to hang out with a large herd of reindeers on a beautiful morning in Norway? Then book Tromsø Arctic Reindeer’s Short Reindeer Sledding, Feeding and Sami Culture tour. Reindeers are social creatures and like being around warm, affectionate people. Stand the chance to feed them and spend time with the Norwegian Sami to learn about their heritage.

Arrive at the pick-up location at least 15 minutes before the scheduled time. From here you will be taken on a 25-minute ride to the reindeer camp. When you arrive at the centre, you will see the reindeer herd and get to click some pictures with them. After a short briefing by a guide, you can enjoy an exhilarating ride around the camp. Once the ride is over, it’s time to feed the reindeers! You will also learn how to throw a lasso on a dummy reindeer. Later, you can settle down at a Sami gamme and feast on some traditional stew called bidos.

Vegetarians can mention their preference at the time of booking so that arrangements can be made for vegetarian options. After the delicious meal, listen to stories of the Sami people, which is the oldest ethnic group in Norway. You can also get to enjoy a traditional folk song called joik from indigenous Sami themselves! After a wonderful session with the Sami, you will be dropped off at the city centre.
